Penguin, a non-photorealistic render engine brings freehand sketching, watercolor painting, cartoon-like rendering and technical illustration to Rhino.
More precise: Penguin is a conceptual, sketch and cartoon, non-photometric scan line renderer. With Penguin you can create stylized images of your models with an artistic look for enhanced graphic and visual appeal.
Penguin 2.0 runs inside Rhino and has the same hardware requirements. Rhino with Penguin runs on ordinary Windows desktop and laptop computers. Penguin works with Rhino 4.0 and 5.0, both 32 and 64 bits.

For designers who are exploring new shapes using generative algorithms, Grasshopper® is the right tool. It is a graphical algorithm editor tightly integrated with Rhino’s 3D modeling tools. Unlike RhinoScript, Grasshopper requires no knowledge of programming or scripting, but still allows designers to build form generators from the simple to the awe-inspiring.
The visual programming language was developed by David Rutten at Robert McNeel & Associates. Programs are created by dragging components onto a canvas. The outputs to these components are then connected to the inputs of subsequent components. Grasshopper is a free download.
